From damp places Chile and Argentina where it is becoming rare in the wild due to habitat loss. Potentially an evergreen tree or large with leathery leaves, which are scented when crushed, and typical fluffy white Myrtle flowers are followed by black berries. For a sheltered site in sun to part shade and moisture retentive soil. Do not allow to dry out.
