An early cropping variety bred to grow better in the cooler British climate. Heavy cropping with a lovely sweet falvour and bright orange flesh

Sow from April-June. Sow seeds on their edge to help prevent rotting. Sowings before May should be started off singly in small pots of around 7-9cm diameter and grown on on a windowsill or greenhouse to plant out at the end of May. From late May-June seeds can be sown directly into the soil about 1.5cm deep. Final spacing 60cm apart

Unless otherwise indicated our plants are supplied in the following pot sizes according to category. Dimensions refer to either the pot diameter (cm) or volume (litre);

  • Exotics/Conservatory & House Plants, Succulents: mostly as young plants in 9cm (approx. 0.5 litre)  or 1 litre pots
  • Hardy Perennials, Ferns and Grasses: 1 litre (approx. 12cm diameter)
  • Herbs: 9cm (approx. 0.5 litre)
  • Hardy Shrubs and Climbers: 1.5 or 2 litre 
  • Potted Bulbs: variable- please see "Quantity or Pot size" on plant information page 
  • Dormant Bulbs, Tubers and Bare-root perennials come either bagged or wrapped without a pot

The exact size of plants will vary with the growing season and may be cut back in accordance with normal pruning regimes or to fit in the box if they are excessively tall.
