Common Name: BottlebrushPlant Family: Myrtaceae Plant Type: Hardy Shrub
Evergreen shrub from Australia with bright pink bottlebrush flowers in spring and autumn. New foliage is tinged pink also. For a sheltered, frost free garden or a cool conservatory. Outside they like moist but well drained, neutral to acidic soil in full sun with some shelter from cold winds. If your garden gets frost then grow in a pot in a good quality loam based compost and move into a greenhouse or conservatory over winter. Prune by 1/3 to 1/2 after flowering and remove dead growth in spring to keep bushy & healthy.
