When the leaves emerge in spring, they are a bright yellowy green, ideal for cheering up a shady spot. As the leaves tone down to a mellow green, dusky pink flowers appear. For any soil except boggy in part to full shade. Cut back to ground level after flowering for a fresh flush of leaves.

The exact size of plants will vary with the growing season and may be cut back in accordance with normal pruning regimes or to fit in the box if they are excessively tall
