Common Name: Wax Plant
Plant Family: Apocynaceae

Size/Qty: 9 cm pots
A vigorous climbing species from Australia (Queensland), the large glossy evergreen leaves making a foil for the scented white flowers which appear in summer. Like other Hoyas it is best kept slightly pot bound and likes a humid atmosphere. Hoyas need a very well drained compost. We recommend an equal mix of peat free compost, bark (you can use orchid bark if you have some) and either perlite or washed horticultural grit or sand. Never over water and keep on the dry side in winter. Do not over feed Hoyas. A balanced liquid fertiliser a few times a year is sufficient.

A narrow-leaved form of this easy to grow bromeliad with funnel-shaped leaves which hold water and exotic, red and blue pendant flowers on long stems in mid-summer.
An ancient palm-like plant which dates back to the dinosaur era. Makes an eye-catching specimen plant for a tub indoors, eventually forming a thick trunk and growing to around 2m but can be kept more compact by keeping in a moderate sized pot.
