A beautiful cultivar with large purple flowers in summer. Ensata Irises need moist soil, but their rhizomes mustn't be covered with water, especially in the winter. They associate well with plants such as Astilbes and Rodgersias. They prefer acid soil - in alkaline areas they can be planted in ericaceous compost in containers sitting in an inch or so of water.

Iris ensata 'White Ladies'

Iris ensata 'White Ladies'£6.00

Pure white flowers with a yellow splash on the falls in mid-summer. Japanese Iris are superb for poorly drained soil and also for the shallow margins of a pond. The sword-shaped leaves add an architectural interest even when not in flower and also provide a perching place for emerging water born insects such as dragonflies. Height 90cm
