A striking clump-forming grass with an upright habit, the blue-green leaves turn deep purple in the autumn, panicles of airy purple flowers turn beige and persist through winter. Sun and well-drained soil. Cut back in late winter.
The evergreen rosettes of spiny leaves are an attractive feature in themselves. Spikes of greenish flowers tower above the leaves in summer. Needs well-drained soil and full sun. Drought tolerant. A great plant for pollinators.
Slow growing rounded evergreen shrub with very dark, almost black leaves. Makes a nice specimen for a pot. Needs shelter from cold drying windsand well drained soil. For best colour grow in full sun but light shade is tolerated.
