Common Name: New Zealand Tea Tree, ManukaPlant Family: Myrtaceae Plant Type: Hardy Shrub
Evergreen shrub from New Zealand with aromatic leaves and masses of saucer shaped pink flowers in early-mid summer. Needs a sunny, sheltered garden and free draining soil. Otherwise grow in a pot and move into the greenhouse over winter. Leptospermum are very similar and closely related to Chamalaucium (wax flower) which we commonly get asked for but find Leptospermum to be hardier and more reliable to grow and suggest as an alternative.
