Cantaloupe type with oval fruits with a sweet orange flesh. The deeply textured, greyish skin turns more orange as it matures. Ideally should be grown in a greenhouse for a consistant temperature day and night but can be grown under a cloche/ cold frame or under horticultural fleece outside. Be aware Melons need really warm conditions to fruit well.
Sow between February and May
Place a single seed in to a 9cm diameter pot. Push in to a depth of about 1.5cm, on its edge to prevent rotting. When plants are about 10cm tall pot on into a large pot (4-5 litres) or 2 per growbag. Provide support for thew plants to climb up and pinch out main stem when it gets to about 60cm to encourage sideshoots to form. Thin sideshoots to the 4 strongest and pinch them out after 2 leaves.
Harvest July to September
