Oriental member of the cabbage family, often used in stir-fry dishes. This red leaved version adds a splash of colour. Lovely fresh crunchy stems are great in stir fries and leaves can be picked on their own for baby leaf salad. Very versatile
Sow May to August thinly in shallow drills 1.5cm deep with 40cm between rows. Can also be started off in modules and transplanted out.
Harvest: as soon as 4 weeks after sowing (for baby leaf) or let them grow on to harvest as mature plants . Sow small batches every 3 weeks to have a continuous supply
