SOW HARVEST
Beet, Leaf Perpetual Spinach
Not a true spinach but used in exactly the same way. Does not run to seed in dry conditions and is winter hardy. Produces a mass of mid-green leaves with thin stems. Also known as Spinach Beet.
Rich in beta carotene, iron, calcium and folic acid.

WHERE TO SOW Sow thinly in shallow drills 2cm (%") deep with 35-45cm (15-18") between rows.
WHAT TO DO NEXT Do not transplant seedlings. As they appear gradually thin until plants are spaced 20cm (8") apart. Pull, rather than cut, leaves as required leaving plants to continue to develop.
HANDY TIP Regular cropping of young leaves encourages new growth, so you can continually pick over a long period.

Hardy Shrubs and Climbers: 1.5 or 2 litre

The exact size of plants will vary with the growing season and may be cut back in accordance with normal pruning regimes or to fit in the box if they are excessively tall.
