Rarely offered in the UK, this frost-tender vigourous South African climber or trailing plant. The leaves are shiny and leathery and arranged in 3 - 5 leaflets. Climbing by tendrils, it is ideal for covering something unsightly indoors or in interior displays. It's equally effective as a trailing plant. It can be placed outdoors in the summer, but will need to be cut back and brought indoors for the winter. Inconspicuous flowers attractive to bees may appear followed by brown-purple fruit. These are rather tart but supposedly make a nice jam.
